Generalities about UTAC certification
UTAC is an independent technical organization
handling certification of quality systems and environmental management
systems. UTAC is accredited by COFRAC (Comité Français
d'Accréditation) under the number 4006/96.

The UTAC mark |

The UTAC mark was created in response to the demand
expressed by the automotive industry and the French government
regarding independent third-party certification. To maintain
full impartiality and freedom to carry out evaluations, UTAC
does not offer consulting services on the implementation of
quality or environmental management systems. |

- Companies in the automotive industry and their suppliers.
- Companies in the motorcycle, bicycle and bodywork industries,
and their suppliers.

- The UTAC certificate is applicable to
a wide range of industries (automotive, textile, chemical,
metal plating, plastic equipement production, indutrial
wastes management, etc.). |

of health and safety management systems : OHSAS 18001
|
| |
- Firms and companies which implement an
health and safety management sytem are in concern by the
OHSAS 18001 certification (ex. : rubler production, plastic
equipement pproduction, metal plating, etc.). |

- UTAC gives the status for management
system including environment and health and safety of

UTAC is recognized by IATF (International Automotive Task
Force for carrying out audits according to the international
technical specification ISO/TS 16949. |

corporate certification. This achieves a reduction in costs

> Pre-certification audits

To assist preparation for a certification audit,
UTAC has developed a pre-certification audit which takes the
form of a full examination of your system carried out by a senior
UTAC auditor.
The aims of a pre-certification audit are:
- Enhance staff awareness on the certification audit.
- Simulate conditions of official audit.
- Provide external evaluation of system operation.
- Identify major non-compliances prior to certification audit.
- Identify deviations from standard, and improvement opportunities.
- Clarify specific issues of the standard.
