Standardization

The Government
decision of September 24, 1984 defines the field of competence
of the BNA.
It covers, the standardisation of road vehicles, of bicycles
materials and components used in their construction, their implementation,
control, maintenance and repair.

The BNA has been mandated by AFNOR since 1990 to act as the
French committee member for :

- ISO/TC22 - Road Vehicles - and its subcommittees
- ISO/TC149 - Cycles
- CEN/TC239 - Rescue systems
- CEN/TC301 - Electric Vehicles
- CEN/TC333 - Cycles
|
The mission of the BNA is :
|

- to make proposals for inclusion in International Standards
- to establish with its members a program of French standardisation
- to assist the industry experts in other national and international
organisations,
- to monitor the progress and contents of French and International
Standards and, in time, to inform the French vehicle industry
- to hold the secretariat of ISO/TC22 and 4 of its subcommittees,
as well as the Secretariat of CEN/TC301 and several working groups
relating to the above-mentioned AFNOR committees.
