On September 3, the BNA – Bureau de Normalisation de l’Automobile (UTAC Group) – Office of automotive standardization – have moved to the prestigious offices of the Comité des Constructeurs Français d’Automobiles (CCFA) in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, at the foot of the Arc de Triomphe.
These new premises are becoming the meeting point for several major players in the French automotive industry. In addition to the BNA, new organizations have recently joined this environment, including the FIEV (Fédération des Industries des Équipements pour Véhicules), the SIA (Société des Ingénieurs de l’Automobile) and the GPA (Groupement Plasturgie Automobile), alongside the PFA (Plateforme Française Automobile), which has already been present for several years.
This grouping will facilitate and strengthen collaboration between the various players in the automotive sector ecosystem, thus helping to consolidate France’s action in automotive standardization. The BNA manages more than 1,000 standards that affect the automotive industry, mainly ISO. The dynamics of automotive standardization have been considerably strengthened to support the electric and connected vehicle.
