LID Technologies recently reached an important milestone by obtaining ISO/SAE 21434 certification on June 21, 2024, issued by UTAC, the benchmark standard for cybersecurity in the automotive sector.
The ISO/SAE 21434 standard is a structuring standard for automotive manufacturers and equipment manufacturers to stay up to date in the face of growing cyber risks, imposing strict standards at all levels of automotive production, from conception and design to development, production and post-production. LID Technologie manufactures TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) components. These systems, implemented at the vehicle’s wheel level, provide information on tire pressure and communicate this information between the module installed in the rim and the vehicle’s on-board computer or in the Cloud via telematics. This certification, here oriented towards vehicle components, is a guarantee of quality and cybersecurity for the on-board electronic systems designed by LID Technologies, and remains valid for a maximum period of three years.
UTAC provides expert auditors in their respective fields in order to guarantee the highest level of excellence for its customers. A first step has been taken, however LID Technologie will have to submit to annual surveillance audits carried out by UTAC to maintain its ISO/SAE 21434 certification over time.
