UTAC supports Mental Health Awareness Day

Mental Health Awareness Day, established on 10th October 1992, is a day dedicated to raising awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilise efforts in support of mental health. This year, the theme is “mental health in the workplace”, a priority for UTAC which is committed to making well-being a key component of its culture.

UTAC has implemented programs and policies that support the well-being of colleagues

In France, UTAC has launched a program to train colleagues in mental health first aid.

UTAC is also organising a relay race where miles run will be converted into euros, with the proceeds donated to a charity selected by our colleagues.

In the United-Kingom, 20 colleagues are trained as mental health first aiders, with training renewed every three years. Comprehensive policies, including the stress management policy, the wellbeing and stress management risk assessment and the UTAC Homeworking Procedure ensure a supportive environment, reflecting UTAC’s commitment to creating a culture that supports mental health and overall well-being. The Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP) provide 24/7 support, featuring AVIVA Carefirst and Medicash EAP.

In the USA, 4 dedicated committees support our commitment to well-being, community, and sustainability.

The Wellness Committee organizes weekly walks every Tuesday at our Northville facility, encouraging colleagues to join and share their experiences on Teams, regardless of location. They maintain a wellness board in the breakroom and recently promoted a 5K walk/run at a local apple orchard on October 4, with a virtual option available for remote colleagues.

The Community Outreach Committee provides resources like the Employee Assistance Program (EAP), offering support in wellness, mental health, legal, and financial services, as well as child or elder care.

In Finland, UTAC partners with Terveystalo, a Finnish private healthcare provider, to support colleagues with their occupational health needs. Through Terveystalo, employees can access comprehensive health services, including mental health support, ensuring they have the resources needed for their overall well-being.
