UTAC, a privately-owned, independent Group and preferred partner in the automotive and mobility industry, has announced the appointment of Virginie Laurent as Vice President of Sales & Marketing. Virginie Laurent will be leading the Sales & Marketing teams in charge of the Group’s various operations worldwide. She is joining UTAC to execute the Group’s development strategy. Customer satisfaction is at the core of this strategy and is based on the creation of partnerships and innovative offerings to support their strategic projects at every stage of the vehicle’s life cycle – from design to replacement. UTAC provides its customers with its full range of expertise, skills and resources to respond to their design and development needs the moment they are expressed, which is particularly important in the current phase of evolution and transformation that the mobility market is undergoing.
Virginie Laurent will report to Connor McCormack, Executive Vice President and member of the Executive Committee.
Before bringing her expertise to UTAC, Virginie Laurent held a number of different positions in the automotive industry.
Virginie Laurent started her career at Robert Bosch in 1996 as a Project Manager and Sales Manager for powertrain systems before joining TRW Automotive where she was the Sales and Development Manager for passive safety systems managing accounts for TRW Automotive worldwide from 2000 to 2013. In 2013, Virginie joined Lectra Headquarters as a Global Strategic Account Manager to help accelerate automotive market growth and assist suppliers and OEMs worldwide in improving their operational performance. From 2017 to 2019, she was the Global Automotive Market Leader at Bureau Veritas before being appointed as the Executive Vice President of Commercial Development at EFI Automotive Group and becoming a member of its Steering Committee in 2019.
Virginie Laurent holds degrees in engineering from the University of Technology of Compiègne, INSEAD and HEC Paris.
