Job Description
The Test Technician is responsible for being a key contributor to our overall testing team. Working both with internal and external customers. Following one-off testing projects from start to finish. Working with test engineers to bring your work to life. You would participate in team and customer meetings to identify requirements, specifications, timelines, and customer expectations.
Qualifications
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Helping engineers/customers when needed
Setting up test cells
Cleaning/organizing test cells and facilities
Building oil conditioning carts
Fabricating and/or machining fixturing
Keeping workspace clean (shop trash/cans/fab room)
Keeping cells running after shop hours
Maintaining shop inventory
Help engineers’ problem solve
Supporting the UTAC culture and values (Integrity, Expertise, and Innovation)
Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Skill Requirements:
Technical degree in automotive related discipline, or equivalent experience
Advanced experience with hand tools required
Understanding of electrical schematics and drawings preferred
1-5 years of mechanical work in either automotive or fabrication
Familiarity with electric motors, pumps, and VFD’s a plus
Ability to work and problem solve on vehicles or ATV’s
Ability to work hands-on with mechanical and electrical wiring
Fluency in the English language is required
Problem solving, strategic thinking and analytical skills required
Ability to function within a team, working cooperatively toward team and individual goals
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
Demonstrated interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with all stakeholders
Strong time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills
Strong attention to detail required
Organize and maintain efficiency of personal work area
Required on-site work as needed, per our Remote Work Policy
Consistently exhibit appropriate attendance habits, working the hours necessary to perform the job
Accept instructions and tasks in a positive manner, treating all co-workers with dignity and respect
Working knowledge with all Microsoft Office applications and the ability to become proficient in any systems that we use (Concur, Kronos, etc.)
A valid driver’s license required for travel to customer sites, picking up parts, etc. (Chauffeurs, CDL preferred)
Consistently adhere to, and support all UTAC policies, procedures, and safety regulations
If applicable: ______ Certification a plus
Proficient with all Microsoft Office applications and the ability to become proficient in any systems that we use (Concur, Kronos, etc.)

Physical Requirements:
Exposure to industry accepted chemicals and noise
Flexibility to support test activity at off-site locations and outside of traditional working hours
Regularly required to stand, reach, bend and move about the facility
Able to lift and/or move materials as needed in the performance of assigned duties
Able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted and 75 lbs. assisted
Able to stand for up to 8 hours
Requirements include, but are not limited to stand, walk, sit, twist, bend, lift, see, speak, hear
