UTAC Strengthens Cybersecurity Across the Automotive Industry with the Creation of a CSIRT
In response to evolving cyber threats and the increasing digitalisation of the automotive industry, UTAC is developing a Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT), a dedicated initiative focused on preventing and managing cybersecurity incidents.
A Major Challenge for the Entire Automotive Industry
Connected vehicles, embedded systems and electric vehicle charging infrastructure: the digital transformation of the automotive sector is creating new cybersecurity risks.
While major automotive manufacturers generally have dedicated cybersecurity teams, smaller companies do not always have the resources needed to anticipate and respond to these threats. Yet, a vulnerability affecting a supplier or equipment manufacturer can have consequences across the entire value chain.
UTAC aims to strengthen cybersecurity throughout the automotive industry by encouraging cooperation between major industry players and smaller businesses.
Dedicated Support for Cyber Threat Prevention and Incident Management
Through this new CSIRT, UTAC intends to provide member companies with support tailored to the specific cybersecurity challenges of the automotive industry.
The initiative will focus on several key areas: monitoring emerging cyber threats, issuing vulnerability alerts, providing preventive tools and recommendations, and supporting companies in managing cybersecurity incidents.
It will also help organisations improve their cybersecurity maturity, particularly in relation to frameworks such as TISAX.
An ANSSI-Supported Project with European Ambitions
Led by a dedicated team combining project management and technical cybersecurity expertise, the UTAC CSIRT is expected to become operational in 2027.
Initially deployed in France, the initiative aims to gradually expand its scope across Europe.
Through this initiative, UTAC continues to develop its cybersecurity capabilities and reinforces its commitment to building a safer, more collaborative and more resilient automotive industry.
