UTAC’s acoustic test track in Morocco is now operational following successful cross-validation trials with Renault Group.
In 2025, UTAC and Renault Group conducted a cross-validation testing campaign aimed at confirming the full operational readiness of UTAC’s acoustic test track located in Oued Zem, Morocco. The initiative sought to demonstrate the site’s ability to deliver measurements fully consistent with those obtained on reference facilities in Europe.

The initiative sought to demonstrate the site’s ability to deliver measurements fully consistent with those obtained on reference facilities in Europe.
To ensure a rigorous and representative comparison reflecting real industrial conditions, four reference tracks compliant with the ISO 10844:2021 standard were mobilized:
• Renault Group’s track in Aubevoye,
• two UTAC acoustic tracks located at the Linas-Montlhéry Autodrome,
• UTAC’s acoustic track in Oued Zem.
The teams carried out strictly identical tests covering pass-by noise measurements (UNR51) and audible warning devices (UNR28). The results confirmed a remarkable level of consistency across the different sites, with a maximum deviation limited to 1 dB. This degree of precision fully validates the operational capability of the Moroccan acoustic track for demanding regulatory and industrial testing.
This campaign confirms that the UTAC Oued Zem site can now host both local and international testing programs while ensuring a level of reliability equivalent to major European facilities, alongside favorable climatic conditions for intensive technical campaigns.
Opened in 2023 as part of UTAC’s international development strategy, the Moroccan center features an acoustic track as well as vibration tracks dedicated to comfort testing and the detection of parasitic noise. Now fully operational, UTAC Morocco’s proving ground represents a new strategic base to support automotive manufacturers in their regulatory testing and technical validation needs, in compliance with ISO standards and UN regulations (UNR28, UNR51, UNR117, UNR138).
