Job Description

The Director of Off-Site Services oversees all groups whose work is completed primarily off UTAC-operated sites. This includes Solutions, Service, and Certification groups. This role will strengthen core business attributes including customer focus, engineering innovation, entrepreneurial spirit, operational flexibility, and team cohesion. The primary responsibility is to deliver technical support and resources while effectively managing customer expectations. The position requires the capability to manage diverse tasks and assignments across multiple areas. Demonstrating initiative and taking ownership of responsibilities are vital for success in this role. As an integral member of the Group Leadership Team, this position provides support for operations on a global scale.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Full P&L responsibility
• Oversee the mechanical and electrical design teams, field services, project managers, and certification group  
• Manage project managers and customer expectations
• Working knowledge of IATF and COFRAC certification requirements
• Represent the service group in Senior Leadership meetings
• Provide revenue forecasting and budgetary numbers
• Provide strategic and technical direction to other UTAC Teams
• Work with the Sales group to track down leads and solidify potential sales opportunities
• Work with suppliers to meet technical specifications and negotiate pricing and delivery dates
• Provide labor estimates and technical descriptions for quotes
• Prioritize projects and resources based on timelines and potential business impacts
• Conduct performance reviews with employees and managers
• Provide monthly group progress reports and accomplishments to the leadership team
• Work with the VP and other leaders to cascade company goals and vision to the employees
• Make sure that all employees are adhering to UTAC established processes
• Provide a safe and comfortable working environment for all employees

• Assists in supporting the UTAC culture and values (Integrity, Expertise, and Innovation).
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Skill Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred 
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a related role 
• Minimum 5 years’ experience working with cross functional teams preferred 
• Proficient with all Microsoft Office applications and the ability to become proficient in any systems that we use (Concur, Kronos, etc.).
• Leadership of diverse teams of strong functional experts
• Collaboration, negotiation, cross functional working
• Experience of embedding a culture of high performance
• Tangible proof of building and developing strong key customer relationships
• English language fluency required 
• Commercially astute and operationally aware to maximize opportunities and efficiencies 
• Demonstrated record of driving results 
• Strong problem solving, strategic thinking, and analytical skills required
• Manage human and material resources to meet targets 
• Able to relay technical information in a way your audience understands 
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, customers, and suppliers 
• Flexibility to support service activity both off-site and outside of normal working hours
• Organize and maintain efficiency of personal work area
• Working knowledge of the automotive industry preferred  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required 
• Strong time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills 
• Able to function as part of a team, with members of varying job levels, and work cooperatively toward team goals 
• High level of financial literacy required
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for traveling between multiple work sites as needed 
• Valid passport and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed
• Give and accept instructions and tasks in a positive manner, treating all co-workers with dignity and respect 
• Consistently adhere to, and support all UTAC policies, procedures, and safety regulations 
• Strong attention to detail required.
• Exceptional work ethic and positive attitude required
• Self-starter, who can multi-task and possess strong communication skills

Physical Requirements:

• Exposure to industry accepted chemicals and noise.
• Regularly required to stand, reach, bend and move about the facility.
• Able to lift and/or move materials as needed in the performance of assigned duties.
• Requirements include, but are not limited to stand, walk, sit, twist, bend, lift, see, speak, hear.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
