At UTAC, our pollutant emissions testing ensures strict compliance with international standards for all vehicle type, from two-wheelers to heavy-duty trucks.

Our testing service covers a wide range of vehicles and energy types, using chassis dynamometers, engine test benches, SHED systems, and real-world measurements with PEMS. From electric bikes to heavy-duty trucks, we assess pollutant emissions and energy consumption in compliance with the most demanding standards. With comprehensive expertise and state-of-the-art equipment, we support mobility stakeholders in developing cleaner and more efficient solutions.

 

What we offer

Chassis dynamometers

Testing all types of vehicles (two-wheelers, cars, commercial vehicles, trucks, e-bikes) to measure pollutant emissions, energy consumption, and range, under both real-world and controlled conditions.
All tests are performed on every engine type—including internal combustion, hybrid, and electric powertrains—and are conducted in facilities accredited by COFRAC, ensuring the highest standards of reliability and compliance.

PEMS

UTAC offers advanced PEMS (Portable Emissions Measurement Systems) solutions to measure pollutant emissions directly under real driving conditions. Our PEMS equipment can be installed on a wide variety of vehicles—including passenger cars, trucks, buses, and even construction machinery—to capture emissions data during actual road use. This approach ensures compliance with the latest RDE (Real Driving Emissions) standards and provides a realistic assessment of vehicle environmental performance.

Engine test benches

UTAC operates state-of-the-art engine test benches designed to deliver precise and reliable measurements. Our facilities accommodate a wide range of engines—from light-duty to heavy-duty applications—enabling comprehensive testing of energy consumption, pollutant emissions, and overall energy efficiency.

SHED systems

UTAC operates advanced SHED and VT-SHED systems to perform precise evaporation tests, quantifying fuel emissions that occur outside of driving phases. These facilities are essential for evaluating the environmental impact of vehicles by measuring evaporative emissions from fuel systems under both controlled and real-world conditions.

Regulatory expertise and support

Expertise in international standards, homologation support, and conformity & verification (ISC, ISV COP), with the ability to adapt to emerging mobility challenges, including dedicated support for the design and development of new testing protocols.
